Amazon Acquires Technology Startup INLT to Help Sellers Import Goods

To make importing products into the United States hassle-free for third-party sellers on its eCommerce platform, Amazon acquired technology startup INLT for an undisclosed amount.

amazon logoINLT is a licensed customs broker that creates software for streamlining the importation of goods. The online retail giant is excited to work with the firm, which has roughly a dozen employees based in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

“INLT is a smart, nimble team that is helping companies simplify and lower the cost of importing goods into the U.S. We’re excited to work with them to develop the next generation of solutions for their customers and Amazon selling partners.” – Amazon Spokeswoman

Amazon said it plans to expand the services INLT is currently offering its customers, and add relevant tools that will further simplify complicated cross-border sales processes.

On the other hand, the software company has acknowledged on its website that it is now an Amazon subsidiary. It says it looks forward to working with the eCommerce titan in developing the next generation of solutions for its current customers and Amazon sellers.
