- This holiday season, millions of unique items in the U.S. shipped with Prime FREE Same-Day, Prime FREE One-Day or FREE two-hour delivery with Prime Now – the last Prime Now delivery on Christmas Eve was made at 11:30 pm in Berkeley, CA and included LEGO Super Heroes Captain America Building Kit, a Hallmark card, Greek yogurt, and shampoo.
- Small- and medium-sized businesses had their best holiday season ever in Amazon’s stores, with items sold growing at a faster rate than retail – more than 50 percent of items sold in Amazon stores this holiday season came from small and medium-sized businesses.
Prime Membership Continues Growth
Most important to many small- and medium-sized businesses is that Amazon continues to sign up more members for its Prime subscription service.
This holiday season, tens of millions of people worldwide started Prime free trials or began paid memberships, and in the U.S. alone, over one billion items shipped for free this holiday with Prime.
Previously, statistics have shown that Prime members outspend non-prime members about 2:1 on Amazon, making Amazon Prime customers some of the most valuable customers in eCommerce.

While worldwide growth is to be expected, Amazon was still able to sign up many new members in the US, U.K., and other more saturated markets.
A large part of the success in increasing Prime memberships in the US seems to be that Amazon now offers more faster services to much of the country.
This holiday millions of unique items in the US shipped with Prime FREE Same-Day, Prime FREE One-Day or FREE two-hour delivery with Prime Now.
It is these new faster options that seem to drive more business to Amazon and making Amazon’s marketplace a must sales channel for many small- and medium-sized companies.
