Amazon Offers $200 Gift Card to Magento Merchants to Accept Amazon Pay
Magento sent out a promotion to Magento merchants today offering $200 Amazon Gift card when the online merchant adds Amazon Pay to their store.
Just yesterday, Amazon promoted Amazon Pay Places, a way to pay using Amazon Pay at local merchants. The Amazon Pay Places is part of the Amazon App service and is rolling out at select TGI Friday’s locations. Read more about Amazon Pay Places here.
AMAZON PUSHING HARD TO PROMOTE AMAZON PAY
As we had stated in yesterday’s article on Amazon Pay Places, it appears Amazon is taking direct at PayPal. Word of this promotion, apparently right now only for U.S. Magento merchants, seems to confirm they are taking payment processing serious again.
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR $200 GiFT CARD
If you are using Amazon as your eCommerce solution, here are the details how to claim your $200 Amazon Gift Card. Even if you can’t meet the requirements for the $200, there are still lower valued Amazon Gift cards available.
You must install and launch Amazon Pay on your site and complete the following transaction volumes before 11:59 PST on September 30, 2017
- $1,500 in transactions and receive a $50 Amazon.com Gift Card
- $5,000 in transactions and receive a $100 Amazon.com Gift Card
- $10,000 in transactions and receive a $200 Amazon.com Gift Card
To sign up for Amazon Pay, follow this link. Of course this is a limited time offer and there is some other legal language on their site.
AMAZON PAY BENEFITS RIVAL PAYPAL
Amazon Pay provides access to hundreds of millions of Amazon customers to checkout on your site using the information already stored in their Amazon accounts.
Your customers no longer need to create additional logins and passwords, find credit cards, or re-enter shipping information. All your customer needs is his or her Amazon credentials.
In addition Amazon claims that Amazon Pay can increase conversion, improve mobile checkout, and provide Amazon’s fraud protection services.
