Amazon Prime Day 2018 Details Leaked!
Thanks to what appeared to be an error from Amazon UK with a leaked banner, we can now confirm that Amazon Prime Day will be taking place in the THIRD week of July and actually be taking place over a 36 hour period.
Biggest Prime Day Ever
Amazon Prime Day will be taking place on the 16th and 17th July, not the 10th July as previously expected.
Also this year the promotion will run for a record 36 hours which is longer than 2017’s Prime Day which lasted for 30 hours.
This is of course making it much more likely that Prime Day 2018 will be the biggest one ever.
We know this thanks to a leak on the Amazon UK site that was spotted by Tech Radar.
The World Cup Effect?
This leak has caught all of us eCommerce experts off guard as it has broken the recipe for Amazon Prime Day tradition. Usually Prime Day takes place on the second Tuesday in July but this year it has been postponed by a week.
Speculation has come out that Amazon has pushed it back a week so as not to compete with the World Cup for attention from shoppers.
As it stands World Cup Semi Finals are scheduled to take place on the 10th July with the final game to be played on the 15th July.
This week shift means that the 16th and 17th are free of distractions for shoppers globally to be fully engaged in buy mode.
With that said we will keep you up to date with any more information as and when we get it, but now we have a date that you can aim for and get your marketing and preparation ready for.
