Amazon Robotics Opens Manufacturing Facility in Westborough, Massachusetts

The new facility, which the company announced it was building in 2019, will expand Amazon’s manufacturing capability in the US and growth in the region in addition to creating over 200 new manufacturing jobs in Massachusetts.
On Monday, Amazon announced it is hiring for 150,000 seasonal jobs, including 1,500 in Massachusetts.
With this new 350,000 square-foot site, Amazon Robotics will continue to grow its engineering, manufacturing, support, and test teams in Massachusetts.

Amazon Robotics Produced Drive Units are Vital Part of Modern Fulfillment Centers
This is the second Amazon Robotic site in the state, with another one located in North Reading, Massachusetts. The two facilities now serve as an epicenter of the company’s robotics innovation.
The facility will produce mobile drive units for Amazon Robotics which are utilized in its fulfillment centers. These drive units and other robotic technologies work closely with fulfillment employees to help safely and reliably pick, pack, and ship customer orders.
Since 2012, the company has deployed more than 350,000 drive units across its facilities generating over a million jobs globally.
