WooCommerce announced that in partnership with Stripe, Apple Pay is now available in the following countries:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- Switzerland
- Spain
- France
- Hong Kong
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Singapore
If your country is not listed, WooCommerce is working with other payment gateways to expand this list. Stripe is only the first gateway to take advantage of Apple Pay functionality and more will become available soon.
Stripe customers on WooCommerce will be able to activate Apple Pay simply by updating your Stripe for WooCommerce extension. One click and you are done.
If you are not a Stripe customer yet, just download the extension from WooCommerce (see source link below) and sign up for a Stripe account and you will be able to add Apple Pay to your store very quickly.
Shopping on websites accepting Apple Pay is as simple as the touch of a finger with Touch ID.
It removes the need to manually fill out account forms or repeatedly type in shipping and billing information, how cool is that?
When paying for goods and services on the go in apps or Safari, Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later, iPhone SE, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 and later.
Apple Pay also works in Safari on any Mac introduced in or after 2012 running macOS Sierra, and confirm the payment with iPhone 6 or later, Apple Watch, or even with Touch ID on the new MacBook Pro.
To avoid any payment clutter issues, Apple Pay will only display as an option to eligible customers that have Apple Pay activated and are on an eligible device.
We love to hear your feedback if you are running a WooCommerce store and have implemented this new feature. Let us know your comments below.
