What you need to know: Omniva’s extensive network, exceptional logistics capabilities, established regional connections, and extensive experience in ecommerce, will enable Asendia to offer expanded services to the Baltics, Finland, and Eastern Europe, as well as the Central Asia and the Caucasus region.
This collaboration provides Asendia with the ability to offer ecommerce merchants access to a global market of 294 million prospective online buyers in 30 countries.
According to data provided by Asenida compiled from Statista, the company predicts that ecommerce revenue in the nine countries in Central Asia and the Caucasus regions will continue to grow and reach $15 billion by 2025.
This growth makes these countries appealing targets for cross-border online merchants and marketplace sellers.
What they said: “Our partnership with Omniva illustrates our commitment to our customers to keep on developing our solutions in parts of the world where online shopping is growing fast and strongly,” said Marc Pontet, CEO of Asendia.
“Omniva and Asendia cooperation is a perfect fit. We both share the desire to provide extraordinary service for the B2C market and can see the great opportunity that this part of the world offers e-tailers abroad.
“Joining forces, we can cover the fastest growing markets and emerging ones, and provide seamless service for our customers,” said Mart Mägi, Chairman of the Omniva Management Board.
Of note: This new solution will be rolled out to Asendia users in 17 countries on four continents with a planned launch window in the second quarter of 2023.
Asendia is a joint venture between La Poste and Swiss Post with offices throughout the United States offering leading international shipping solutions, while Omniva is the Estonian National Postal Operator.
