BigCommerce, a leading ecommerce platform for fast-growing and established brands, announced this week that it has been selected by Amazon as a member of the Amazon Marketplace Developer Council as well as included in the Amazon Marketplace Appstore within Seller Central.

These distinctions reinforce BigCommerce’s commitment to helping its 60,000 plus merchants become businesses that sell on Amazon, should they choose to take that approach.

Members of the Amazon Marketplace Developer Council have a unique perspective and understanding of the small and medium-sized businesses that sell on Amazon.

Through the Marketplace Developer Council, members share valuable insights and feedback on existing and prospective tools and programs to shape the roadmap and priorities for Marketplace Web Service APIs and associated tools.

In parallel, BigCommerce’s listing on the Amazon Marketplace Appstore means that more merchants, developers and Amazon Pro Sellers will have access to BigCommerce’s services and direct integration with Amazon.com.

This diverse ecosystem of tools and solutions will enable merchants to further automate their ecommerce selling experience across Amazon and a branded storefront.

“For years we’ve worked closely with Amazon to provide customers a seamless way to enhance their ecommerce presence through Amazon’s Marketplace, and joining both the Appstore and Developer Council only enhances our ability to develop great products for our customers.

Together and separately BigCommerce and Amazon have been critical in democratizing ecommerce tools for businesses of all sizes, and we look forward to working with them to make our joint customers even more successful.”

Kevin McKeand, vice president of strategic partnerships for BigCommerce
