DHL Expands Forwarding Operations into Boston Massachusetts Market

With one of the principal ports on the East Coast and the largest port in Massachusetts, as well as one of the primary airports serving New England, Boston also stood out to DHL for its thriving industries, which include finance; hi-tech research and development; engineering & manufacturing; public sectors; commercial fishing, food processing; life sciences; printing and publishing.

DHL Global Forwarding Boston is a one-stop shop for all supply chain solution needs, including ocean, air, exports and imports, as well as daily consolidations to some of its top trade partner countries including: China, Germany and the UK.

It also offers dedicated night line hauls to and from JFK International Airport, dedicated local transfers to Boston Logan International Airport, international and domestic white glove pick-up and delivery services, ocean and air charter service, as well as in-house licensed customs brokerage service.

Under its Warehouse and Distribution services, DHL offers inventory control, a bar coded system for inventory management and order management.

As part of its efforts to reach out to the local community and share relevant information that is important to businesses importing and exporting to and from the US, DHL Global Forwarding held an educational training course on the International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS® 2010) on October 5 in its Boston office.

INCOTERMS are pre-defined commercial terms and rules published by the International Chamber of Commerce for the delivery of goods under sales contracts for domestic and international trade.

DHL Global Forwarding’s Boston station employs 40 employees and is located only 17 miles from the Boston Logan International Airport and 18 miles from the Port of Boston.

To date, DHL has solidified its presence in 15 cities across the US, with plans to have 36 U.S. stations by the end of 2017.
