dLocal Amazon partnership in Brazil

Global payments platform dLocal is expanding its partnership with Amazon in Brazil, enabling international sellers to receive payments in their currency of choice on Amazon.com.br.

This collaboration opens the Amazon.com.br online store in an unprecedented way to international sellers, enabling them to sell their goods in Brazil, speeding both time-to-market and minimizing operational costs, enabling easier access to the Brazilian customers.

Brazil’s 105 million eCommerce users continue to present an outstanding opportunity for online retailers. Already, Amazon offers a wide range of goods from international sellers on Amazon.com.br to ensure a great shopping experience for its Brazilian consumers, with local payment methods such as credit cards with installments.

“Today marks an important milestone for us in our relationship with Amazon. We evolved from a local payment solution provider to develop a complex marketplace solution integration. Through this expansion of our strategic relationship, we are giving sellers not present in Brazil for the first time the opportunity to access Brazil’s eCommerce explosive growth on Amazon’s marketplace. Meanwhile, Brazilian consumers will have many more choices when they shop with Amazon.”

Michel Golffed, Senior Vice President of Growth at dLocal

Big Opportunity For Sellers on Amazon in Brazil

Amazon has invested significantly in the Brazilian market since 2018. Late last year, it expanded to eight logistics centers nationwide, and today, Brazil is the fastest growing country in Amazon Prime subscriptions, according to Alex Szapiro, Amazon’s chief executive in Brazil.

dLocal is a good fit for Amazon as it powers local payments in emerging markets like Brazil connecting global enterprise merchants with billions of consumers in 29 countries across APAC, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.

The company also works with Amazon to enable local payment acceptance in multiple Latin American countries, such as Chile.

However, Brazil is the biggest opportunity in South America. And international marketplace merchants now will have an easier time with this new collaboration between dLocal and Amazon to power their global reach to include Brazil.
