eBay Canada Invites Sellers to Shipping Rates Table Beta
eBay Canada announced in its 2018 Fall Seller Update that it was introducing shipping rate tables to ebay.ca.
Now the company is ready to offer this new opportunity to Canadian sellers in a beta trial.
In a message to sellers, the company said:
“As a valued member of the eBay Canada Community, we’d like to invite you to be a part of the shipping rate tables beta trial. If you choose to participate, you’ll be able to customize your domestic shipping rates under the guidance of a member of our Business Development team, as well as the opportunity to provide feedback and make shipping rate tables even better.”
What Are Shipping Rate Tables?
For Canadian sellers, eBay divides the shipping rate tables up into 21 distinct urban and rural shipping zones and for each zone, a seller can set their own specific shipping rate.
This allows sellers to manage shipping costs better between areas near them and more remote locations far from them.
Sellers can even offer free shipping to some zones that would be less expensive to ship and charge a shipping fee for the more remote locations of Canada where shipping costs are higher.
To join the beta, Canadian sellers need to email to CanadaRateTables@ebay.com and a member of eBay’s Business Development program will be in touch to get the seller started on this new opportunity.
