These new requirements will help drive visibility and conversion for eBay sellers, giving buyers an improved and more relevant search experience.
The new requirements for Item specifics to help listings to be found are in the below categories:
- Home, Furniture & DIY
- Clothing, Shoes & Accessories
- Jewellery & Watches
- Toys & Games
The marketplace reiterates that sellers who complete Item Specifics sell better than those who don’t. For example, based on average sales in the Furniture category on eBay.co.uk from May 2019 to June 2019, furniture listings with size item-specific filled in sold 56% better than those without.
All categories requiring item specifics, including the additional categories above, can be found using the downloadable lists on the dedicated Item specifics Seller Centre page.
eBay Offers Tool to Quickly Identify and Correct Existing Listings
Sellers can quickly identify and correct existing listings that are missing key item specifics free of charge until 31 December 2019.
The Optiseller Aspect Finder Tool will automatically review a seller’s listings, identify which ones are missing item specifics, find suggested values and easily update them.
Sellers can then use the report to update their listings directly on eBay in bulk or through their preferred listing tool.
Please note: Good ‘til Cancelled listings won’t be blocked on renewal. Sellers who are physically located outside the UK or Ireland but list on these two eBay marketplaces are also impacted by this change.
