Today, eBay announced they are offering a price match guarantee on over 50,000 products sold through the eBay Deals Program.

eBay Deals are typically short term sales of specific name brand products. If a buyer can find a lower price from a validated competitor, eBay will issue a coupon to match that price.

eBay lists the following as valid competitors to the eBay Deals Program:

  • Amazon.com
  • BestBuy.com
  • Walmart.com
  • HomeDepot.com
  • Target.com
  • Sears.com
  • Wayfair.com
  • Jet.com

The competing store must sell the item (i.e., “Sold By Amazon.com”), not a third party marketplace seller. For eBay customer service to price match the product, the item must be identical, in stock, and new in box; some factory refurbished are okay.

Buyers must be residents of the United States, purchase it on eBay.com and the delivery address must be in the U.S. However, qualified U.S. buyers can be outside the U.S. to buy products as long as all other conditions apply.

Of course there some additional terms and conditions, most notably the exclusion of matching prices during the weeks of Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.

All eligible buyers can purchase products on eBay Deals with no membership required.

WHAT IS THE EBAY DEALS PROGRAM EXACTLY?

The eBay Deals Program is made up of over 900 pre-qualified and trusted eBay sellers. Many of the eBay Deals sellers are Top Rated sellers that received an invitation from eBay to list products on eBay Deals.

Some trusted sellers are manufacturer outlet stores or other high volume distribution outlet retailers. Generally speaking, most deals offered are name brand products, which makes comparison shopping easy.

To qualify, products offered on eBay Deals must ship for free and present a great value, typically between 20% to 90% off.

You may qualify for inclusion into the deals program if you are a Top Rated seller with a history of mass sales. You should contact eBay support for more information.

WHY ONLY 50,000 ITEMS?

The 50,000 items number is not a hard limit, but a daily average of deals in the eBay Deals Program. eBay seems to have success with this Daily Deals program, so one can assume that over time the number of items offered will increase.
