eBay Seller

The COVID-19 pandemic is creating unprecedented challenges for many eBay sellers, and the company wants to allow flexibility in business operations as that is essential right now.

eBay is reassuring sellers that they will not be penalized for being unable to carry out usual operations. There may be situations where a seller can’t get an item out the door as fast as usual or has to cancel an order unexpectedly.

To support sellers, eBay Seller Performance Standards will not be negatively impacted during this period.

Seller accounts will be protected from being downgraded from the upcoming March 20th seller performance standard evaluation until the June 20th evaluation.

Protecting Seller Status While Maintaining Service Levels

For example, if a seller was a Top Rated Seller on February 20th and the performance over the next evaluation period would have moved that seller down to Above Standard, that seller will now automatically retain their Top-Rated status.

If a seller was Above Standard on February 20th and the seller’s performance over this period would have moved the seller to Below Standard, that seller will now automatically remain Above Standard.

Important: If a seller’s performance improves over any evaluation period, that seller will still move up as expected.

eBay still wants sellers to provide the best possible buyer experience and encourages sellers to continue to deliver a great product aligned to buyer expectations.

Sellers who have a problem fulfilling orders at any time are urged to let potential buyers know by putting their store in vacation mode.
