eBay Protects Seller Performance Standards Until July

eBay announced it is protecting sellers until July from adverse impacts due to the coronavirus crisis that may require sellers to ship items late or cancel orders.

“Ebay realizes that flexibility in business operations is essential right now.  We want to reassure you that you will not be penalized for being unable to carry out usual operations. We understand there may be situations where you can’t get an item out the door as fast as normal or you have to unexpectedly cancel an order. So in supporting your needs, your Seller Performance Standards will not be negatively impacted during this period.”

eBay Statement

Seller accounts will be protected from being downgraded from the March 20th seller performance standard evaluation through July 19th.

For example, if a seller was a Top Rated Seller on February 20th and the seller’s performance over the next evaluation period would have moved the seller down to Above Standard, the seller will now automatically retain Top-Rated status.

If you a seller was Above Standard on February 20th and the performance over this period would have moved the seller to Below Standard, the seller will now automatically remain Above Standard.

eBay Seller Can Move Up

eBay will allow sellers to improve their performance ratings during this time. Therefore, if a seller improves its status over any evaluation period, the seller still moves up as expected.

This announcement extended the previously communicated seller protection on performance standards in March when the coronavirus crisis accelerated in the U.S. and Europe.
