Due to severe weather conditions in the Northeast, eBay users may be experiencing shipping delays. eBay said it is closely monitoring the situation and providing sellers with additional support and protections during this challenging time.

eBay sellers which are located in the impacted areas in the Northeast and are not able to ship inventory are recommended to do the following:

  • Communicate with buyers to advise them of the situation.
  • Extend handling time on listings if sellers expect delays.

If a seller is impacted, eBay will automatically protect the seller’s performance standards, including:

  • Late shipment rate.
  • Valid tracking upload rate.
  • “Item not received” cases due to late delivery as long as seller uploaded tracking and the shipment has a physical scan from the carrier before a case was opened.

eBay will also remove any associated negative and neutral feedback and these cases will not impact a seller’s service metrics rating.

The company also reminds sellers they may see late shipments due to this weather event on their seller dashboard, but eBay will remove them before the next seller performance evaluation.

While eBay says there is no need to contact Customer Service, it is a good idea to monitor any problems with shipments and if coming up to the deadline for seller performance ratings, to reach out to eBay with any potential issues.
