eBay UK and The British Fashion Council Open Applications for Circular Fashion Fund 2023

eBay UK, in partnership with The British Fashion Council, has opened applications for this year’s Circular Fashion Fund, aiming to support businesses using technology to shift consumer behavior towards sustainability in the fashion industry.

The fund seeks to find and support solutions that will evolve the approach to fashion’s circular economy, which focuses on reusing and recycling products and materials to reduce waste and environmental impact.

Eligible businesses can secure up to £25,000 in funding, in addition to a specialized mentoring program featuring industry professionals. This represents a modification from the previous year, during which the Circular Fashion Fund chose 6 winners, distributing a total of £100,000 among them.

To qualify, companies must be based in the United Kingdom, registered with Companies House, and can be a charity, social enterprise, or registered company.

They should have been trading for at least six months and no more than six years. Both eBay and non-eBay sellers are welcome to apply.

The assessment criteria for advancing the circular economy in fashion include using emerging technologies, a unique value proposition, commercial viability, problem-solving skills, and a positive impact on people and the planet.

Applications close on Friday, October 20, 2023, and shortlisted applicants will be notified by Monday, November 6, 2023. Those shortlisted will pitch their proposals to a panel of industry experts and eBay UK leadership the week of November 13, 2023.

Applicants are expected to bring new, innovative ideas that will continue to advance sustainable fashion and technology.
