eBay Appoints Vidmay Naini As GM for Global Emerging Markets

Vidmay Naini has been appointed as the General Manager for eBay’s Global Emerging Markets, the company announced today. Naini will be based in Singapore for this new role.

This region encompasses Southeast Asia, India, Eastern Europe, Israel, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, all of which exhibit significant potential for ecommerce expansion as the regions mature and evolve.

Previously, Naini led eBay’s businesses in Southeast Asia and India. In his expanded role, he will oversee eBay’s initiatives aimed at assisting companies in these markets to access worldwide demand and integrate into the global marketplace.

Vidmay Naini Has Long Career at eBay

With 18 years of experience within eBay, Naini is a seasoned leader who has demonstrated his ability to drive innovation and foster business growth.

He has held various roles within the organization, including Ecommerce, Strategy, P&L General Management, Cross Border Trade, Policy Advisory, Online Payments, and Strategic Investment & Partnerships.

During his tenure, Naini has been instrumental in several significant initiatives, such as eBay’s strategic partnership and investment in Flipkart, India’s leading ecommerce platform, and transforming eBay’s business in India, which now includes more cross-border selling opportunities.

eBay’s global marketplace has attracted over 133 million buyers from 190 countries. As stated in eBay’s 2022 Southeast Asia Small Online Business Trade Report, 99 percent of all small businesses enabled by eBay currently engage in exporting through the platform, serving customers in an average of 25 international markets annually.

The company is poised to empower more small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the Global Emerging Markets, providing them with an equal opportunity for global export success by granting access to many of the world’s lucrative consumer markets.
