In the fall of 2021, FedEx Express will expand its Seattle-area operations with a new ramp operation at Paine Field Snohomish County Airport in Everett, Washington.
The logistics company is taking over the airport facility leased by Boeing in support of its 787 Dreamliner production that became available as the manufacturer consolidated assembly of the aircraft to South Carolina.
FedEx says that the addition of the air cargo facility will enable it to enhance service in 37 North Seattle-area ZIP codes with up to two hours of extended pickup times.
New FedEx Express Flight
A new Boeing 757 flight operating Monday through Friday between Paine Field and FedEx Express World Hub in Memphis, Tennessee will utilize the new facility.
Also, the flight will enable FedEx to offer earlier market delivery times, better dry ice capabilities, and more marketplace capacity.
“We are proud to grow our presence and enhance our services in the north Seattle market by expanding operations to Paine Field. Paine Field is already a driving economic force in Snohomish County, and this expansion positions our network for continued success in delivering for our customers.”Tim Wertner, senior vice president, U.S. operations west, FedEx Express
FedEx Express will use a 68,745-square-foot facility on 19.24 acres with the option of adding more gates.
