Summer is still here, but back-to-school sales are in full swing and many online retailers are already preparing for the busy holiday season.
For this year, FedEx announced they are waiving many of the residential surcharges, but some some peak surcharges may apply.
For the second year in a row, the company will not apply additional residential surcharges during the holiday season, except for shipments that are oversized, unauthorized or necessitate additional handling.
“FedEx delivers possibilities every day for millions of small- and medium-sized businesses. We are demonstrating our support for these loyal customers during this critical timeframe by not adding additional residential peak surcharges, except for situations where the shipments are oversized, unauthorized or necessitate additional handling.”
Raj Subramaniam, executive vice president, chief marketing and communications officer, FedEx Corp.
Peak surcharges for such shipments will be effective Nov. 19, 2018, through Dec. 24, 2018. Full details can be found here at fedex.com/peak-surcharge.
FedEx Express and FedEx Ground also announced general changes to surcharges on unauthorized shipments and some packages requiring additional handling, effective Sept. 3, 2018. Full details can be found at fedex.com/rate-changes.
And FedEx plans to update its fuel surcharges before the holiday season any time and they will be available here.
