The carrier suspended all money-back guarantees in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic in order to balance its focus on worker safety and performance.
However, earlier this year, FedEx reinstated its money-back guarantee on many express services, including:
- FedEx First Overnight
- FedEx Priority Overnight
- FedEx Standard Overnight
- FedEx First Overnight Extra Hours**
- FedEx Priority Overnight Extra Hours**
- FedEx Standard Overnight Extra Hours**
- FedEx International First
- FedEx International Priority
- FedEx International Priority Freight
** Contract service available to FedEx account holders only.
With FedEx now reinstating the suspension of the FedEx Money-Back Guarantee on those express services, the carrier is operating again with the same policy as it did for most of 2020 and early 2021.
As a reminder, FedEx is continuing the suspension of the money-back guarantee on all other services: FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight, and FedEx Office until further notice.
“The status of the money-back guarantee for these FedEx services and additional FedEx services worldwide is being evaluated on an ongoing basis, and our focus remains on continuing to provide the best possible service to our customers during this period of uncertainty.”

Note: FedEx is also implementing the same policy in Canada which includes money-back suspensions of the same services if offered in Canada.
FedEx Removing Money-Back Guarantee Not Uncommon During Peak Season
While removing the money-back service guarantee heading into the holiday season has been a common practice for FedEx and other carriers, this suspension is unusual, especially since it removes the FedEx Money-Gack Guarantee for peak season from virtually all service levels this early.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, on domestic FedEx Express services, the carrier would generally honor the guarantee except during the last few days before December 24. FedEx Ground service guarantees were typically suspended in early December.
