Magento released Progressive Web Applications (PWA) in Magento 2.3 several months ago and considers PWA an important consideration for online merchants seeking high conversion and a cost effective mobile solution.

As more ecommerce moves to mobile devices, Progressive Web Apps gives shoppers app-like, highly personalized cross-channel experiences that were once reserved for native apps.

However, as much as shoppers are using mobile devices, bounce rates on mobile devices remain high. Conversion rates on desktop still are twice as high as on mobile devices, making it critical for developers to build easier mobile checkout experiences.

To help with this process, Magento has integrated Braintree (from PayPal) into the default PWA storefront Venia.

This gives online merchants a quick and easy way to get started with debit and credit transactions on a trusted gateway.
