OnBuy’s CCO Mark Lister Climbs to Mount Everest Base Camp

We have been writing about company achievements here at eSeller365 for many years, from record-breaking corporate profits to companies growing at a rapid pace.

Don’t Miss

British-based marketplace OnBuy.com is no stranger on our site with news about reaching new milestones and accolades, including celebrating its 5th birthday with 224% annual growth or being ranked in the FT1000 as one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies.

The online marketplace is on a phenomenal trajectory upending the UK online commerce space and this year plans to expand internationally.

Mark Lister Takes OnBuy to Mount Everest

But this week, we want to spotlight a feat we don’t see often. This is not a company milestone, but a personal achievement and dream that has been planned for years, delayed by COVID.

OnBuy’s Chief Commerical Officer (CCO), Mark Lister, and his wife trekked up to Mount Everest’s South Base Camp (“Everest Base Camp” or EBC) in Nepal which is situated at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet).

Along the way up to EBC, they passed through villages and experienced some of the most breathtaking views in the world. Besides the spectacular mountain views, the Khumbu region of Nepal is especially scenic during the spring as small irises and other blooms come alive.

The pair set off on Monday, April 25th on this challenging and scenic adventure which requires acclimatization days to minimize the risks of acute mountain sickness.

Mark and his wife planned for a nine-day hike to EBC, but made the trek in eight days, reaching the camp earlier this week.

And in a nod to OnBuy’s meteoric climb, Mark carried an OnBuy.com flag to the base camp unfolding it for a quick photo.

“We climb mountains at OnBuy.com every day. Mark Lister our CCO just decided to literally climb OnBuy up a mountain,” said Cas Paton, Founder and CEO of OnBuy.com on LinkedIn.

“Well done Mark looking ace!” Cas added, which we echo as well.

For this remarkable journey, Mark has been training in the mornings before going to work at OnBuy. He plans to return to the company next week after taking a few days off to rest.
