This service enhancement permits Royal Mail account holders to dispatch parcels weighing up to 30 kg, while non-account holders can now send packages up to 20 kg in weight.
Moreover, the maximum dimensions for these shipments have been extended to 61 cm x 46 cm x 46 cm, enabling British sellers to send bulkier items to customers abroad.
The expanded shipping service covers a wide range of global destinations, including popular countries such as the USA, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Japan, and Ireland.
Prior to this service enhancement, customers were limited to sending parcels of up to 2 kg worldwide, up to 5 kg to specific locations, and a combined maximum dimension of 90 cm.
For shipments to EU countries, Royal Mail also offers Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) for faster delivery with duties paid to eight destinations, simplifying delivery.
“After the challenges of the last few years, many businesses and marketplace sellers are looking for ways to open up new markets and new opportunities for growth,” said Nick Landon, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Mail.
“Expanding our products so that all of our customers can send heavier and larger items through the Royal Mail International services they already use and trust is a great way of enabling just that.
“Our shipping solutions make it really easy to use these services and are just one of the ways we are changing to help our customers to grow.”
Booking New Royal Mail Service
For Royal Mail account holders, the new International Tracked service can be easily accessed through their approved shipping solutions.
Non-account holders and consumers can also make use of the enhanced capability via Royal Mail’s Click and Drop platform. Convenient options for parcel collection include the Parcel Collect service or drop-off points such as Parcel Postboxes and Post Office branches.
As the global ecommerce landscape continues to evolve, these expanded shipping options from Royal Mail provide online merchants and marketplace sellers with the tools needed to meet the growing demands of international customers. It also solidifies the company’s strategic shift toward a parcel-led business.
