Shopify Adds Better Returns to Its Platform with Acquisition of Return Magic
Shopify announced they have acquired Montreal-based Return Magic for an undisclosed amount.
The company, founded in 2016, aims to make returns easier to manage for merchants and customers.
On its website, the company says that Return Magic “Auto-magically generate labels, refunds and emails to save time and enhance your shopping experience. Customize your portal and emails to look and feel like your website.”
Return Magic works with logistics solutions ShipStation, EasyPost, and Shippo and has a long list of shipping providers, including many international shippers.
Return Magic is still a very small company, just four employees including the company’s two co-founders.
The company currently works with nearly 2,500 retailers, and virtually all of that business is on the Shopify ecosystem, which caters to more than 600,000 merchants worldwide.
For the time being, Return Magic will continue to be an app in the Shopify app store. Shopify did not state if they would eventually add Return Magic as a core feature into the platform.
Currently Return Magic offers a Free 30-Day trial and is available for as little as $10 per month. Pricing is based on number of returns that a merchant processes through the system.
Here is a brief video that explains the benefits for merchants to use Return Magic.
