Shopify and DHL Express announced that Shopify’s Shipping platform will now include DHL as an option and it is available today.
Best of all, Shopify already negotiated low rates with DHL Express so all sellers on its platform get the same low rate benefit that generally may only be available to larger volume customers.
With a global market five times the size of the U.S., cross-border trade is a tremendous opportunity for U.S. sellers. According to the United States of America Department of Commerce, International Trade Association, the U.S. exported $2.21 trillion of goods in 2016.
While most small business sellers rely on USPS services, there is an increasing number of buyers that want reliable and fast international shipping that can only be provided by a courier service such as DHL.

DHL is the world’s leading international express shipping provider and uniquely positioned to offer access to virtually any country in the world.
In 2016, the company stated to investors it had a 34% market share in express shipping, serving 2.5 million customers in over 220 countries and territories.
DHL Express may not be a household name in the U.S., it is well known internationally among consumers and considered a highly trusted logistics company.
Most of DHL Express international shipments only take about 2 to 5 days to arrive and have full end to end tracking for customers. DHL also obtains a signature at no charge.
How to Implement DHL Express in Shopify Shipping
To get started with DHL Express in Shopify, store owners must enable international shipping with shipping zones and add DHL Express to these zones.
Now a seller only has to create a shipping label for international orders and schedule a free DHL Express pickup.
It is simple to use and implement. With the upcoming Holiday season, every Shopify seller should consider adding DHL Express as a shipping option for global sales.
