In time for Valentine’s Day, Shopify looked at product order data from the stores selling on their platform in the United States, to see which cities are ordering typical Valentine’s Day gifts leading up to the big day.
From “Most Romantic City” to “Sweetest City” to “Sexiest City”, Shopify has crowned America’s top Valentine’s Day Cities of 2019.
And The Winners Are
The Most Romantic City: Kalamazoo, Michigan
People from Kalamazoo are most likely to sweep their significant others off their feet this Valentine’s Day with a bouquet of flowers. Kalamazoo had the most flowers/plants ordered leading up to Valentine’s Day, relative to all orders placed in the city.
The Most Blinged Out City: San Francisco, California
Diamonds are San Francisco’s best friend. San Francisco ordered the most jewelry (over 14,000 orders!) leading up to Valentine’s Day, relative to all orders placed in the city.
The Most Sensual City:Miami, Florida
Miami indulged in their senses this Valentine’s Day with the most perfume/cologne ordered, relative to all orders placed in the city.
The Sexiest City: New York (the Bronx), New York
While Sex and the City might have you thinking Manhattan is the sexiest place in New York, turns out it’s actually the Bronx. The Bronx had the most lingerie/intimates ordered leading up to Valentine’s Day, relative to all orders placed in the city.
The Sweetest City: Bellingham, Washington
Bellingham is the city with the biggest sweet tooth with the most chocolate/candy ordered leading up to Valentine’s Day, relative to all orders placed in the city.
The Most Caring City: San Leandro, California
Don’t be surprised if you see people in San Leandro parading around with big stuffed animals on February 14th. San Leandro had the most stuffed animals/toys ordered leading up to Valentine’s day, relative to all orders placed in the city.
The Most Thoughtful City: Phoenix, Arizona
Nothing says “I love you” like a card that literally says “I love you”. Phoenix had the most greeting cards ordered leading up to Valentine’s Day, relative to all orders placed in the city.
