Shopify had a design makeover and updated sales and fulfillment screens and processes. The new look is part of a comprehensive strategy to build the future of Shopify with one design in mind.
The makeover is based on Shopify’s Polaris Design System which was released earlier in the year. While change is always a bit frightening, the goal is to make your production flow easier and better to understand.
Shopify believes once you work within this new look, you will appreciate the productivity gains it offers.
DESIGN UNITY ACROSS ALL SHOPIFY SECTIONS
The goal is to make your workflow more predictable and intuitive.
New updated colors, fonts, and illustrations provide better visual aids and a bit more personality. The new look will improve readability for merchants working in dark rooms to sunny beachside chairs.
No matter where or how you access Shopify, your experience is fully enhanced to provide you all the tools to manage your store from anywhere.
CONSISTENCY IN 3RD-PARTY APPS
With the average merchant using about four apps per store, 3rd-party app developers can provide a seamless integration experience with Polaris.
Moving forward, app developers will leverage the same design guidelines to make their apps fully integrate within the same Shopify look and feel.

BETTER SEARCH FUNCTION
Another area of improvement is the search function. The new Shopify search function has more prominence in your store, allowing you to find products, functions, and help topics faster and easier.
Moreover, finally, Shopify has improved the profile section as well. As your business grows, you will need to add more members of staff with different roles.
With this new profile section, you will gain better visibility of your employee’s interactions with our store and further improve overall business operations.
MORE UPDATES COMING TO SHOPIFY
More updates are coming to Shopify, including the Point of Sale App. As mentioned the App and Theme store will receive their design update shortly.
Shopify continues to grow as a SaaS eCommerce platform. Providing a more seamless look and feel for merchants was long overdue to provide an integrated design and functionality.
