The Portland authentication facility is only 10,000 square feet out of all these facilities, making it the smallest in the network.
“Following a record year in 2022, we continue to evaluate our network efficiency and rebalance trades between our authentication facilities around the world, consolidating where it makes sense,” StockX told Complex, which reported this closure first.
“As a dynamic, global business, we will continuously assess our strategy to deliver a best-in-class experience for buying and selling the world’s most coveted products.”
While StockX has revealed its plans to close the Portland facility, it has also stated that its network of centers has expanded by 300,000 square feet in the previous year, such as the company’s recently launched first authentication center in Mexico City, Mexico, in January.
On average, StockX claims to authenticate about one million items per month through its facilities and it has authenticated 40 million products since 2016.
