UPS and FedEx have suspended pickups and deliveries for hundreds of zip codes affected by winter storms in New York, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.

“FedEx Express experienced substantial disruptions at our Memphis and Indianapolis hubs Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23 due to severe winter weather,” FedEx said on its service alerts page.

Winter Storm – Additional Information

Since both carriers said their primary air hubs were affected by this winter storm, international shipments and shipments to other US zip codes may be delayed as well.

In addition, US ground hubs and transportation networks are likely affected in some way, again delaying shipments to zip codes not listed.

Shippers should continue monitoring shipments for any unusual tracking activity and reassure receivers that shipments are not lost, but most likely just stuck in a sorting or distribution center due to this widespread winter storm affecting key transportation corridors and networks.
