UPS To Hire 100,000 Seasonal Workers for 2023 Holiday Season

United Parcel Service (UPS) announced that it will hire over 100,000 seasonal employees to bolster its workforce during the upcoming holiday season. This hiring initiative mirrors last year’s effort and aims to maintain UPS’s position as an industry leader in on-time delivery performance during peak season.

To accomplish this mission, the Atlanta-based shipping giant is actively seeking both full-time and part-time seasonal staff, with a particular focus on seasonal delivery drivers, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) drivers, and package handlers. UPS is committed to offering competitive wages and flexible work shifts at hundreds of locations nationwide.

For those eager to secure employment beyond the holiday season, UPS is also making permanent positions available in select areas, giving prospective employees a chance to establish a long-term career with the company.

The company reiterated its dedication to providing attractive wages and benefits to its workforce, underlining that seasonal opportunities often serve as stepping stones to permanent careers at UPS.

Notably, nearly 50,000 seasonal employees have transitioned into permanent roles with the company over the past two years, a testament to the potential for growth within the organization.

This year’s seasonal package drivers and package handlers can look forward to competitive compensation as well. Under the terms of a recently ratified five-year contract agreement with the Teamsters Union, seasonal package drivers will start with an hourly wage of $23, while package handlers can expect to earn $21 per hour for their dedication during the holiday period.

With the holiday season fast approaching, UPS’s extensive hiring campaign reflects its commitment to meeting customer demand while continuing to provide excellent service.

As online shopping and package deliveries are expected to surge once again, UPS’s investment in its workforce ensures that families and friends can connect, exchange gifts, and celebrate the holidays with peace of mind.

Aspiring UPS employees can visit the company’s website or local UPS locations to learn more about the seasonal job opportunities available.
