Whether you mail letters or ship packaged goods from your eCommerce store through the U.S. Postal Service, prepare to pay more as the company is imposing a price hike effective Jan. 27, 2019.
The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) has already been notified of the new prices which have already been approved by the Governors of the Postal Service.
According to its press release, USPS will raise prices for Mailing Services by approximately 2.5% while its Shipping charges will depend on the type of product.

It further stated that the prices for Mailing Services reflect the Consumer Price Index (CPI) while that of its Shipping Services are based on market conditions.
Once the proposed prices are approved by the PRC, the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp will increase from 50 cents to 55 cents. Meanwhile, a single-piece additional ounce price will be reduced to 15 cents from the going rate of 21 cents.
