Indianapolis Main USPS Post Office Closure Impact on Region
The Indianapolis Main Post Office building is also the region’s Processing and Distribution Center/Facility (P&DC).
USPS did not elaborate in its notice on what effect the closure of the main postal facility in Indianapolis has on deliveries as that could impact more than 4 million residents, the Indianapolis P&DC services.
In addition, Indiana is one of the states with a significant impact from the winter storm causing disruptions across the nation.
FedEx warned Friday morning that its operations in Indianapolis’ air hub were severely disrupted last night. If the Indianapolis Main Post Office has to remain closed for an extended period of time due to the flooding and weather situation, it could cause further delivery delays in the area.
Update: On December 27, USPS stated the facility had resumed normal operations.
