USPS postal services in the City of Buffalo were halted on Wednesday due to adverse lake effect snow conditions, affecting ZIP codes starting with 142.

A U.S. Postal Service spokesperson stated, “For the safety of our employees and customers, there will be no deliveries, collections, or retail operations until the severe winter weather subsides.”

A total of 23 post offices will be closed, with plans to resume normal operations on Thursday if the conditions have improved.

Postal officials are urging the public to assist by keeping mailboxes, steps, and sidewalks clear of snow and ice, ensuring a safe environment for letter carriers when services resume.

“Safety is a top priority, and we appreciate customers’ patience and understanding to keep our employees out of harm’s way,” emphasized a USPS spokesperson.
