Videoblocks Adds Stock Photos and Changes Name to Storyblocks

Videoblocks was launched in 2009 to provide a subscription-based stock video media site for content creators at an affordable monthly price and now will be part of Storyblocks.

Many users of stock photography are familiar with Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, iStockPhoto, Envato, or any number of other stock photo and media distributors.

While stock video was often available at a high per clip cost on those or other stock image distributors, Videoblocks from day one concentrated on high-quality unlimited download videos at an affordable subscription rate.

In the last six years, the company has grown to offer over 115,000 video clips and has become the largest distributor of stock video with over 30 million downloads.

Clients include almost any kind of business including TV stations and networks, eCommerce companies, and corporate media groups.

The company also started a video marketplace allowing customers to hire creators to produce unique content, often up to 40% off comparable industry rates.

In addition to the video site, Videoblocks had also launched two companion sites called GraphicStock and AudioBlocks that are now all part of the Storyblocks site.

GraphicStock offers over 250,000 graphics, vectors, icons, images, and infographics. AudioBlocks has over 100,000 music tracks, sound effects, and loops in its content library.

Storyblocks Evolves to More Than Just Images

With the launch of an expanded stock image marketplace, Videoblocks has decided to change the name to Storyblocks.

Storyblocks now offers an image library with over 400,000 images to download and keep forever at the monthly subscription price. Also, it offers discounts on millions of marketplace images customers may purchase for their projects.

The new homepage of Storyblocks brings together stock images, video, and audio into one consolidated landing page. However, each service still maintains its own subscription model, but there is an all-access plan now available as well.

With this consolidation of various media assets under a new name and one landing page, the company may add templates, fonts, and other media elements in the future.

While video is still the leading marketplace for Storyblocks, the inclusion and expansion of other media assets make Storyblocks a formidable all-around competitor in the media assets distribution industry.
