Winter Storms to Impact Shipping and Deliveries in The US Probably Most of This Week

The National Weather Service on Monday morning said that over 150 million Americans are currently under Winter Storm Warnings, Ice Storm Warnings, Winter Storm Watches, or Winter Weather Advisories as impactful winter weather continues from coast-to-coast.

While the US Postal Service is closed today in observance of Presidents’ Day, UPS and FedEx have both warned customers of shipping delays from this storm which is impacting significant logistics routes and hubs.

With the storm likely to impact logistics for several days, sellers should warn buyers of potential delays. Even if sellers are located in areas not directly impacted by the storm, most of the east/west transportation corridors, especially in Texas, have been hit hard.

The Weather Channel is also warning of another storm that they expect will impact significant portions of the US later in the week.

As it looks today, Monday, February 15, this week could be a messy week for sellers with shipment delays lasting all week as two winter storms back to back are creating a huge transportation mess. Regardless of shipping service, delays are inevitable this week.
